I'm bad at multitasking and have taken a liking to 2 RTS games, I see you didn't mention.īecause of no base-building, Ground Control & the Myth series. (I'm going to avoid any info about it from now on.) I can still enjoy skirmish mode, I guess. It can work, but overall doesn't make the most sense. The direction the story could go would be odd. But on youtube, people have scrutinized what has been shown. And if I find one done well, I would not need to play another game in my life. > Is apparently the ultimate gameplay loop for me . RTS + finding/collecting loot-equipping heroes/units. But I wish there was a proper endless mode. I know you can sort of play indefinitely toward the end of story/campaign. They're still around but they no longer have that untouchable rep that they used to have. It was painful to see Relic crash and burn with Dawn of War III. I remember when Relic was the last of the real big RTS game studios with Homeworld, Company of Heroes, and earlier Dawn of War. Command & Conqueror, Dune, Warcraft, Starcraft, Age of Empires. Lots of Star Wars games letting you play as X-Wings, TIE Fighters, etc, but play as a Star Destroyer captain or whatever? Nope.Įdited Maby It's funny because I still remember the days of the 90s and 2000s where RTS was really big, the genre's Golden Era so far. Very few games really make it a point of emphasis to play as larger starships. There's a bunch of space games out but they're focused on smaller craft. No money coming in.Īgain, the premise looked really interesting to me. Unless that game's devs are getting money from elsewhere to prop the game up, I don't see Dreadnought blossoming into something better. Steamcharts: Dreadnought (entire timeframe) - You can see the population dropoff after its Steam release 4 months after coming out in October 2018. Had huge balance issues, irritated veterans leaving, and newbs getting curbstopped and not liking the mess. From what I gathered the devs rushed the game for a Steam release, did big changes that veteran players / testers hated (UI, balance issues) to go with it. I was interested in Dreadnought but when I dug into it, the game has problems. Check out dreadnoughts or something like that on steam.
